OUR BIG TRIP

MARY & OLI GOING AROUND AUSTRALIA
WEST COAST - Page 3

13 September 2007, Thursday

Continuation of the Ningaloo Reef Story...
Few close-up shots from nice fish including "Nemos".
Turquoise Bay - Nice colours.
Shivering after more than 4 hours in the water - not as
warm as we thought.
Nice set-up - sunshade and all essentials at Turquoise
Bay.
Dune vegetation at Turquoise Bay.
SS Mildura - sank at the Cape running onto the reef.
The wood and other stuff from the ship was used to
renovate Yardie Homestead.
Lighthouse at Vlaming Head - nice
view, but not good enough to stay in
the cold wind.
View from the lighthouse onto the Cape. The
structure on the right in the background (hard to see)
is a beacon used for the army, I think somewhere it
said that the middle tower is 384 m high and therefore
the second largest structure in the Southern
Hemisphere - but could be wrong.
