Continuation of the Ningaloo Reef Story...

14 September 2007, Friday

Second day in the area and we first went to the Cape Range NP - two roads lead into the ranges, Charles Knife Rd and
Shothole Canyon Road. Nice drives, but again nothing special. Maybe we have seen already enough or the windy weather
makes it not very enjoyable anymore - hmmm something to think about. After the rugged ranges we went back to town for
lunch before heading over to the NP Visitor Centre and maybe another round of snorkeling. After the visitor center we had a
look at Lakeside snorkeling area and the wind was just driving the waves and current a little too much. Late in the day, cold
water, lots of wind - o.k. no snorkeling and back to camp with a little stop at Mangrove Bay and the Turtle Centre. Mangrove
Bay has a nice hideout to watch birds, we really only saw the three we took pictures off, but in the afternoon we thought that
was normal. The Turtle Centre had a nice beach with lots of shells. We walked a while and looked at many shells. Below are
the pictures from today.
Panoramics from today - Oyster Stacks, SS Mildura and
Lighthouse Lookout.
Pictures fom Charles Knife Road - nice Canyons and
colours.
Last two pictures above and left are from shothole
canyon picnic area at the end of the road.
