Brought the car to Western Auto and they brought it back to standard, luckily I had the original alternator with me. IT WORKS AGAIN !!! The story I got this time was that the regulator was too small for the big output alternator. Well, story number #320 - as you can see I do not give a lot about an Auto Electrician's opinion, because the next story will be different for the same thing. However the main thing is they fixed the car and we can finally start the real part of our trip and leave Broken Hill. While the car was fixed we had a look at the Geo Centre of Broken Hill and the Tramline Museum - some pictures below.
After the vehicle was fixed we went to Silverton again to test it out. This time we actually went inside the famous Silverton Hotel and had scones and apple strudel at the Cafe. Some pictures below of the cemetery - oldest one we found was 1885. Obviously Mad Max 2 was the most significant movie made at the Silverton Hotel - at least for me. Also planes made out of beer cans and here we go they still build the interceptor in Australia. Maybe I should have bought one of those - pretty sure the alternator does work on those. And finally which car is better the replica of the interceptor or OLISTJ - stupid question, obviously TJ rules !!! I could have actually driven over it, but did not wanted to upset the nice people in the Hotel.
GM does make Diesel Engines and they have been used in the Silver Comet - as seen above !!! Maybe a little to big for the Holden Commodore...
