30 August 2007, Thursday

Today was car servicing time - I booked it in for today to have the leaks done at the front and rear axle - that is what  I thought
at least. At the end of the day we stayed all day at camp and relaxed at the pool a little bit - in the shade !!! When I picked up
the car to go to the next day at the staircase they fixed the rear axle which was the breather leaking oil, however the front
could not be fixed. The axle has a groove where the seal sits and therefore needs replacement which they did not order. After
telling me that I can drive at least another 20,000 km's with it I decided that this will be fixed later. I also talked to Tony the next
day and he confirmed that it should be o.k. to drive it. Now I just need to make a decision when to fix it - it should be done
before we are participating in the Jeep Muster in Perth at the end of September - so maybe Perth is the place to fix it. After the
bad, but not so bad news we went to the second day of the staircase - this time on top of the jetty. This was amazing,
awesome, fantastic, breathtaking... can not find more words - the pictures will speak for themselves.
Timewise from left to right the change of the staircase (moonlight reflection on the mud plain) - at the beginning it is like a real staircase or
ladder to the moon and later it gets wider and bigger when the moonlight intensifies. Very awesome - lets say it f*%#$% awesome...
Some other impressions of the mud plains and
moon - to the right some experiment with
cropping the pictures.
No enhancement used !!! Later a page will be
created with all cropped pictures from all three
days... just because most of them look
amazing. This is what people sell here for
$30-50 per frame.
Our camp at the Cable Beach caravan park - we spend
most of the day here today and relaxed.
The jetty of the Deep Sea Port just after the sunset on
the other side of the peninsula.
The town beach side of the jetty - all of those people
sitting there would not be able to see the staircase...
The Deep Sea Port jetty again...
Quite an interesting trial -
the town with planes flying
overhead and long
exposure on the camera.
