Continuation of the Breakaways story...

Today we moved into the Desert Cave Hotel in an underground room and we actually stayed there for the whole day. Both
still being hit with the cold we just relaxed for the rest of the day, so no pics...
On the way back along the Stuart Highway we passed a few mine fields, no not the explosive mine fields, but the Opal
Mine Fields close to Coober Pedy. On the right you see a so called Blower, this machine works like a huge vacuum and
sucks all the dust and earth out of the mine and deposits it out of the barrel onto the little mound below. That is how those
mounds are formed today. The Blower is an invention from Coober Pedy specifically designed for Opal mining.
