Continuation of the drive to Cervantes and the Pinnacles story...
24 September 2007, Monday
Today we finally got a new fan heater in Jurien Bay, now you ask yourself why are they talking so much about this. We are
getting back to the cold nights in the Southwest of WA and a heater just makes your life much easier after the sunset - believe
us, it is one of the comforts we do not want to miss, unless we have no power for camping. After a wild night of rain and wind
we went back to the Pinnacles after it cleared a little bit. The clouds did make for a few good pictures. We were lucky that we
only had a few drops of rain when driving around. We also found the place where we went crazy in 1993 and did some stupid
pictures - remember you are not allowed to climb the Pinnacles - he he he. We also went to Lake Thetis to see some
Stromatolites again, but you can give that a miss. We also went to the Cervantes Lookout on the way to Jurien Bay, but the
clouds and the rain were not very nice to us. By the way, when driving to Jurien Bay we came the closest to be stopped by
the Police on our trip. A VE Commodore Hwy Patrol car (nice car - he he he) made a U-turn just behind us and followed for
about 200 meters before doing another U-turn and turning their lights. Not sure what they were doing, but potentially got
another call when trying to follow us and stop us. Towards the end of the day, we stopped at Hanson Bay and looked for
Shells, but only found Blue Bottle Jellyfish, which are not very nice to you when getting in contact with your skin. That was
the last day before heading down to Perth to meet Roger from the Ausjeepoffroad Forum and having our car fixed, here are
the pictures.

Panoramics from the Pinnacles.

Enjoy the cloudy impressions of the Pinnacles from Day 2. In some pictures, you can see the rain on the ground and the areas where it had already dried or not rained.
