OUR BIG TRIP

MARY & OLI GOING AROUND AUSTRALIA
WEST COAST - Page 28

22 September 2007, Saturday

Continuation of the Kalbarri story...
Nice wildflowers on the walk to Eagle Beach, above the
cliffs along the beach and on the right below the Eagles
which gave the name to the coastal gorge. Lots of large
orange and purple crabs under the cliffs.
The crabs had really
nice colours and
they were large and
plentiful. On the
left, the view from
the walk down to
Eagle Beach -
beautiful spot.
From the coast, we
went inland to the
Z-Bend, nice road
but still too many
corrugations - we
hate them by now.
Nice silvery bushes
and lots of grass
trees.
We are now entering wildflower country and we have the first
proof with lots of them in the Kalbarri NP.
The Z-Bend gorge formed by the Murchison RIver looks very nice, but we have
already seen so many gorges on our trip and for some reason the wow factor
has been reduced to - well looks nice. On the right the Nature's Window which
is quite special - like a picture frame - great photo opportunity.
