11 September 2007, Tuesday

Waiting for the part from Perth and repairing the car was the main aim today. Midday Mike came home from work and showed
Mary and I the plant he works at. The Pilbara Iron plants in Dampier - quire impressive. It was easy to get in and by the
security, well done Mike !!! Later, I had to take a taxi to go to the airport to pick-up the part, it came after the driver left this
morning. I also made the taxi go to two places to buy a new brake control unit for my trailer brakes. Quite a nice taxi ride...
After Mike came home he installed the new part and the bar works again !!! After that, we tried to install the brake control unit,
but at the end it would burn fuses when adjusting according to the manual. We skipped that part and adjusted the brakes
manually and made sure that they would go o.k. What a day again and big thanks again to Mike and Abby for having us at
their house and helping us out so much !!!!! Hard to pay back one day... The next page shows the pictures from the Pilbara
Iron plant in Dampier.
And it snapped again... the wire is not strong enough to
make the wheels turn and stop the diff from moving
away from the Body and Chassis.
Thanks Mike !!!! What would I have done without him
and Callum.... walking I guess.
Shit we had to go down the Jump-Up again...
Snapped it again, well, let's go down and do it up again
at the end of the track.
From a different perspective.
Callum took great photos of Mike coming down the
Jump-Up. Also below.
O.k. that was the difficult part done and let's wire it up again for the trip home - hopefully it will last - which it did.
Thanks again to the guys for helping me out on the track and afterwards to get the parts ordered and fitted.
The panoramics from today...
