OUR BIG TRIP

MARY & OLI GOING AROUND AUSTRALIA
KIMBERLEY - Page 23

28 August 2007, Tuesday

Continuation of the Bird Observatory, Dinosaur Prints and Moon Eclipse...
Rainbow Bee Eater - nice colours.
Two of them - we actually saw more
throughout the day.
It always flew away when I took a picture - so funny wing
positions are recorded.
No idea which bird, but it entertained us at one of the
bird bath locations.
Pelicans around the beach, also below...
Now we entered the bay and beach area and the
colours are amazing - Broome is where the red dirt
meets the blue sea - or better turquoise sea.
The colours through
your polarised
sunglasses are even
better. This time the
camera even with
filter can not reflect
the colours you
actually see.
Brahminy Kite's - very nice birds but too shy to get close to them.
Dead crab and not yet eaten by the birds.
When you walk at the beach, it seems to be almost dead
territory. As soon as you stop for a bit the earth around
you starts moving - full of hermit crabs.
