Continuation of the Imparja Camel Cup Story...

You also need to understand that this is a community event, which means organised by volunteers and all money made goes
back into the community. However, still very professionally organised, but not as tightly organised than what you would
have thought - which actually makes it a much better event.
Part of the Grand Parade - well do not really know why...
A Heli was flying all day over the ground - you could
book it and get good pictures of the race track. The
reason why I show that picture? Well the announcers
(from a local radio station) were really funny guys.
Whenever the Heli came over they stopped talking and
sang the MASH main theme - great guys and very funny
for the whole day.
Part of the Grand Parade - all the Camels are walked
around and introduced.
He won the Cup a few years back and is now the
president of the organising committee and still racing.
The final of the first race, in the background coming
second Shorty Smith (Blue Shirt) the winner of last
years Cup.
Trying to get the animals down for the start is a real
challenge.
Slightly different styles of riding a Camel?!?!?
He is going to be overtaken - his style or just the Camel
had enough?
Why did I loose this one? Bloody Camel....
Between the races a rickshaw race or kids fun was
provided. Those guys were making some fun of the
normal horse racing tradition of dressing up....
And off he goes - he was o.k. and the Camel almost
immediately calmed down.
Oh shit....
Just after the star of the third race. One Camel already
running into the wrong direction and everybody trying
to stop it.
First one under control, the second one still does not
get it on the right.
