Continuation of the Devils Marbles story - see the pictures taking in about 1.5 hours of each other.
21 July 2007, Saturday
This morning was early and the sunrise was also an opportunity for me to have a look - quite chilly with the wind and I
climbed the big rocks behind us to get pictures (see third picture below). Unfortunately, the pictures where not so good
because the Tripod was to hard to carry while climbing up the rocks - but it is all in your mind - this is what counts.
After packing up we went through Tennant Creek - nothing really to see, so we went further to the Three Ways Roadhouse -
one of the most famous Roadhouses in Australia - at the junction of the Barkly and Stuart Hwy. That area was totally different
16.5 years ago, the development which has gone on for the last years is amazing. The Roadhouse now comes with Motel
rooms, Camping area with Pool and everything has expanded. I will recognise the same change in Katherine Gorge when we
get there. This is a shame, but you can not stop the development for the bloody tourist - this time, I mean mainly the Oldies
and Overseas visitors. Here are some pictures from the Roadhouse.
Unfortunately, we did not find any big Road Trains at Three Ways, so we stopped later again when we saw this 4 trailer one.
My truck is relatively big compared to the other vehicles here, but it is dwarfed against the Road Trains.
